Some things require an index. Authority is one of them.
Statement of Filing
The SWANK Canon is now indexed.
This is not an update.
It is not an expansion.
It is not an invitation.
It is an act of organization.
What This Index Does
The Master Index records the Canon as a closed doctrinal system comprising:
27 Arcs
109 Position Pages
one continuous argument concerning the operation, failure, harm, repair, and termination of authority
Each Arc addresses a discrete ethical failure point.
Each Position Page stands independently and cumulatively.
This structure is intentional.
Disorder is not an aesthetic choice.
Why an Index Was Necessary
Authority frequently benefits from obscurity.
Diffuse records.
Fragmented reasoning.
Endless documents without internal coherence.
The Master Index removes that convenience.
It establishes:
where each principle sits,
how each failure connects to the next,
and where authority is required to stop pretending confusion is complexity.
What This Is Not
This Index is not a reading guide.
It is not a summary.
It is not a simplification.
It does not exist to make the Canon easier.
It exists to make avoidance harder.
Those encountering difficulty here are not encountering ambiguity.
They are encountering structure.
Canonical Effect
With the publication of the Master Index:
no Position Page can be treated as isolated,
no Arc can be dismissed as anecdotal,
no claim of misunderstanding can be sustained in good faith.
The Canon is now navigable, citable, and closed.
This is generally the point at which institutions become quiet.
Closing Entry
The SWANK Canon was never written to be browsed.
It was written to be located.
The Master Index ensures that nothing here can be credibly described as accidental, excessive, or unclear.
It is all exactly where it belongs.
Filed as doctrine.
Indexed for memory.
Not optimized for comfort.
