“Though the Witch knew the Deep Magic, there is a magic deeper still which she did not know. Her knowledge goes back only to the dawn of time. But if she could have looked a little further back… she would have known that when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor’s stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backward.” - Aslan, C.S. Returning to Harley Street After Being Betrayed By It

⟡ Eleven Forms and a Harley Street Hour ⟡

The Administrative Maze to Earn a PTSD Diagnosis

Filed: 24 October 2024

Appointment Confirmed: 1 November 2024, 14:30

I. The Diagnosis Is Yours—If You Can Survive the Paperwork

At precisely 18:30 BST on 24 October 2024, Harley Street Mental Health issued a confirmation for a general psychiatric assessment with Dr. Irfan Rafiq. The appointment was not offered casually. It was offered on condition of completing eleven distinct psychological assessments — before even setting foot in the building.

This was not an act of care.
This was a rite of passage.

🕊 Note:
SWANK London Ltd. recognises the professional care offered by Dr. Irfan Rafiq and the team at Harley Street Mental Health.
This post critiques the administrative climate trauma patients must navigate — not the clinical integrity of this provider.
In fact, our Director intends to return.

II. The Bureaucratic Gauntlet

To “qualify” for a 60-minute appointment for PTSD, I was required to submit the following prior to arrival:

  • New Patient Questionnaire

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7)

  • Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9)

  • Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale

  • Developmental History Questionnaire (via parental recollection, if one dares)

  • ADHD Screening

  • Major Depression Index

  • Obsessive Compulsive Inventory – Revised (OCI-R)

  • Primary Care PTSD Screen

  • Trauma-Related Shame Inventory

  • Insomnia Severity Index

One does not simply attend Harley Street.
One performs a bureaucratic striptease before being allowed to enter.

III. Why I Went: Panic, Betrayal, and the Return to Harley Street

This appointment wasn’t a curiosity. It was a necessity.

I was having severe panic attacks following a sequence of clinical betrayals:

  • Liz White, a Harley Street psychologist, turned against me.

  • Dr. Branley, a Harley Street respiratory consultant, abandoned care.

  • My GP surrendered to social workers, disregarding every documented risk.

There was no neutral ground left.
So I returned — not to Harley Street generally, but to the corner of it that still practiced medicine.

IV. PTSD as Evidence — and as Threat

Let it be noted: I complied.
Despite PTSD, I followed every instruction. Despite trauma, I ticked every bureaucratic box.

This wasn’t an appointment booked in peace.
It was booked during an ongoing campaign of institutional retaliation — one that began long before Kirsty Hornal’s June 2025 safeguarding threat and only escalated over time.

My attempt to secure psychiatric recognition was not reactive. It was preemptive, anticipatory, and defensive.
This confirmation email is more than admin.
It is timestamped proof of my medical situation before yet another wave of state misconduct tried to overwrite it.

It confirms what SWANK has always recorded:
That our Director sought help. And the system responded by escalating the harm.
